Twitter is one of the most powerful but most misunderstood social media platforms. There is a lot more to Twitter than just being able to post 140 character updates. Let’s take a look at some of the FAQ’s about the site:

How do I post a picture to Twitter?

This can be easily done right from Twitter. Start writing a new status update and then click on the small camera icon located on the bottom left side of the box. Find the image you want to upload on your computer and select it. the just type your update and press tweet. Your image will then be shown below your status update on your newsfeed.

How do I post video’s to twitter?

Twitter doesn’t host video files but you can share them to your Twitter feed via popular video sites like youtube.com, Vimeo, Ustream etc… along with a comment.

You can also copy and paste the url to your video directly to Twitter. Your video will then appear in the expanded view of your tweet and can be watched directly on Twitter without the need to leave your twitter newsfeed.

Does Twitter allow html in tweets?

No. Twitter doesn’t allow any html for security reasons.

How can I incorporate Twitter on my website?

Twitter offers a variety of widgets that you can embed on your website to connect it to your twitter account. At https://dev.twitter.com/docs/twitter-for-websites you’ll find buttons to follow, retweet, and mention as well as instructions for how to embed tweets directly on your website for interactive tweet action right from your site.

How can I customise my twitter design?

You have two chooses for customising your twitter profile 1) use one of the pre-made themes and customise it to suit your tastes or 2) create your own personalised Twitter design.

If you create your own background remember that images must be in PNG, JPEG or GIF format and smaller than 800K. Animated GIF’s are not supported.
